The College of Veterinary Medicine complex is accessible to the public on weekdays (excluding holidays) from 7:30am through 5:00pm. At all other times, it is only accessible to members of the College of Veterinary Medicine community.
If you’re not a member of the College of Veterinary Medicine community and have a work-related or significant need to access the veterinary library, you can request access by emailing Chris Dunham, Access Services and Administrative Manager, at cd332@cornell.edu.
It takes about 1-2 business days to process your request. We’ll let you know by email if your request has been approved. Then you’ll be able to use your ID card to enter the complex through the Veterinary Education Center Atrium door.
A quick note: You must renew your request for access every semester.
Academic-Year
Monday – Thursday: 7:30 am to 10 pm
Friday: 7:30 am to 6 pm
Saturday: 8 am to 10 pm
Sunday: 8 am to 10 pm

- Juneteenth
- Independence Day
- Labor Day
- Thanksgiving
- Christmas Eve to New Year’s Day
Winter-Recess
Winter Recess typically begins after the last day of exams at the College.
Monday – Thursday: 9 am to 4 pm
Friday: 9 am to 3 pm
Saturday: Closed
Sunday: Closed
The library is closed between December 24 (Christmas Eve) and January 1 (New Year’s Day).
Spring-Break
The library is open on a modified schedule during spring break. Precise hours vary from year to year.
Summer
Monday-Friday: 9 am to 4 pm
Friday: 9 am to 3 pm
Saturday: Closed
Sunday: Closed
The library is closed on Memorial Day and in observance of Juneteenth and Independence Day.
